Ian Stokes is a project management practitioner, certified facilitator and trainer who delivers process and learning solutions to the pharmaceutical industry. His recent clients include Pfizer, GSK, Nestlé et Faurecia. He delivers courses on Masters and MBA courses at ESIEE in Paris and ESC Toulouse. As chairman of the French branch of DSDM, he believes in a customer-centric approach to projects, with frequent validation and open teamwork. He has designed and published training material, and likes to deliver solutions that are fast to implement and simple to operate.

The Clinical Research Project Management Course brings best project management skills to the clinical trials arena.  We use plenty of exercises, team activities and two engaging case studies to help participants to satisfy the following broad objectives:

-          to feel comfortable in the project life cycle (this means familiarity with the phases, the steps, the tools, techniques, project terminology and project attitude),

-          to have the opportunity to exchange and to learn from each other to your heart’s content; for example staff from clinical research organizations and from pharmaceutical companies enjoy the chance to discuss outside the contractual context,

-          to explore ideas and to ask questions in a non-threatening low-stress, open-minded and reflective atmosphere,

-          to get some hands-on practice of using project management methods and techniques in a clinical-research type of project.

One of the case studies is a phase III clinical trial scenario from project brief, to project charter, work breakdown structure, project plan, to project progress and delivery.  The other case study focuses on patient recruitment.  In addition, we will have time to cover themes such as stakeholder management, risk management, team work, contractor management, communication and conflict handling; and all of this in a way that keeps people interested and learning effectively.
