Noël Akers is a registered UK Patent Agent and European Patent Attorney. With a background in chemical engineering, he is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Patent Agents. Noël is the principal and founder of patent attorneys NJ Akers & Co, and has a varied practice advising a wide range of clients, from SMEs to multinational companies, on international patent matters in the biotechnology sector. Noël has worked on a number of US patent litigation cases to provide expert evidence on European patent law. He has also advised the Danish government in the field of patent insurance schemes. Noël has published widely, in particular on aspects of patent law and practice relating to the biotechnology industry.
